Belinda Smith 30 Years a Solicitor!
Belinda Smith celebrates her 30th anniversary as a solicitor on the 15th November this year. She also celebrates over 6 years running her own very successful niche family law practice with associate Michele Fielding, at their offices in Thorpe Wood, Peterborough. Prior to setting up on her own, Belinda and Michele were both at Buckles solicitors for over 20 years.
Belinda hails from Grantham where she went to Maggie Thatcher’s school, and now lives in Bourne. Michele is a Deeping girl and now lives in the Hamptons, Peterborough. Between them Belinda and Michele have over 50 years’ experience in family law and their case loads include divorces, financial applications and settlements, cohabitation splits, child arrangement orders for residence and contact, pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements and emergency measures such as injunctions and occupation orders.
Belinda and Michele both have the specialist qualification in collaborative law which is an option for family cases to minimse the friction and conflicts that often occur during the traditional divorce process.
Belinda has a particular expertise in children cases, being a long standing member of the Law Society Children Panel and for many years representing parents and children in the arena of care proceedings. Belinda Smith & Co does not have a legal aid franchise but Belinda still represents foster parents and extended family members in care and adoption proceedings.
Belinda also provides advice and representation in road traffic matters in Magistrate Court cases.
