Celebrating 10 years in Practice!

Belinda Smith & Co, family law solicitors based in Thorpe Wood, Peterborough, celebrated 10 years in practice at the end of May this year.

Belinda Smith was a partner at Buckles Solicitors, heading up the family department there, before she left to start up her own firm in 2008.

Belinda’s practice covers all areas of family law from the “prevention is better than cure” aspects such as cohabitation agreements and prenuptial deeds, to divorce and financial settlements, court proceedings and representation at hearings and emergency proceedings if needed, such as occupation orders and freezing marital assets.

Belinda was a member of the Law Society Children panel for over 20 years whilst at Buckles, and whilst no longer undertaking public law legal aid work, maintains a large case load of Children Act matters dealing with contact and residence disputes, some of which unfortunately lead to court proceedings.

Belinda is a strong advocate for dispute resolution as an alternative to litigation, and has the Resolution qualification in collaborative law.
