The Best Type of Divorce
Ending your marriage is traumatic – it is up there with bereavement and selling your house, not necessarily in that order.
The Peterborough Collaborative Law Group of family law solicitors has just had a relaunch, now to be known as The Best Divorce Options Group. Belinda Smith and Michele Fielding are both qualified collaborative lawyers and you can check their details and those of our colleagues in the Peterborough and Stamford area on the website at www.bestdivorceoptions.co.uk.
Collaborative law is still a minority interest for those entering into divorce proceedings and struggling with the sharing of marital assets and arrangements for the children.
It shouldn’t be. Divorce is never going to be a bed of roses but you can stop it being a bed of thorns by using the collaborative process rather than the traditional method of going back and forth between solicitors and very often, ending up in Court before a Judge whose final decision you can only guess at – you are at the Court’s mercy.
With collaborative law you keep control, you don’t go to Court and you have four-way meetings following agreed agendas with the mutual objective of working things out in a balanced and civilised manner and prioritising the children’s needs for the future.
Choose collaborative – it can be the best option.
